Protect our Oceans

About our oceans

Oceans cover more than 70 percent of our earth and are responsible for feeding hundreds of millions of people around the world.

Currently, the oceans are in crisis because of overfishing, pollution, acidification, and habitat destruction. The ocean currently absorbs about a quarter of human-caused carbon dioxide emissions, plastic and other waste leading to ocean acidification that will alter marine ecosystems in dramatic yet uncertain ways.

Project Ocean sets out to raise awareness of the harm plastic causes to our oceans. By removing all single-use plastic water bottles from our Foodhalls and restaurants, amounting to approximately 400,000 bottles a year. Discover more about the plastics problem and how you can make a difference.
