Bazaruto Archipelago
Vilanculos
Ponta d’Ouro & Ponta Malongane

The South
The highlight of Southern Mozambique is the Bazaruto Archipelago – a string of beautiful islands with long, white beaches, rich tropical reefs, clear warm water and excellent fishing. The two largest islands in the archipelago are Bazaruto Island and Benguerra Island – fringed with casuarina, palm and cashew nut trees, both islands are characterised by large dunes and inland lakes providing a haven for a prolific birdlife. The islands boast a rich culture as well as some of the best diving and fishing in Mozambique.

Vilanculos
Deep in the heart of the Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary, relax and enjoy sandy white beaches and clear, tropical waters. It is possible to reach Vilanculos by car or by plane, making it an easily accessible and idyllic getaway. Vilanculos is an ideal starting point for a trip across the bay to either Benguerra or Bazaruto Islands, or further up the coast, stay on the mainland in an upmarket and idyllic lodge on the beach.
